Addresses and phone numbers for restaurants are located at the bottom of this page For all kinds of cuisine, as varied as the cultural diversity of the 4th largest city in the nation, Clear Lake is the place to find it. Your choices include seafood, steaks, barbeque, sushi, Vietnamese, Indian, Mexican, Italian, Cajun, Thai, Chinese and traditional American are just a few. If you're a seafood lover, Clear Lake is clearly the place for you. Whether you like to catch your own or let someone else do it for you, you're never more than a few minutes away from a quality seafood dining experience. The Kemah Boardwalk features several restaurants, entertainment, ferris wheel, archades and art galleries. The Aquarium Restaurant features 2 massive saltwater aquariums. One is a vertical, cylindrical clear tube rising 3 floors and the other features redfish, stingrays, sharks and other native area fish. Just on the other side of the channel, on the Seabrook side, you will find Outriggers and Pappadeaux restaurants. Good seafood and great views. If you are looking for a intimate, romantic dinner, then check out the Sundance Grill. Located in the Seabrook shipyard and yacht basin, you can watch the sun set over Clear Lake over a bottle of wine. Want some good Texas barbeque or a steak then T-Bone Tom's is a great choice. The restaurant is adorned by artwork of a local artist Stout. On weekends, you will find great entertainment on the back patio, weather permitting of course. Perry's Grille is famous for it's steaks and 2" thick slow roasted pork chops. Some people just want a great burger. Two establishments compete for top honors. Tookie's is filled with antiques and has a homey, cozy atmosphere. The South Shore Beer Gardens has more of the Texas Icehouse feel and has some of the best burgers around. Churrasco's offers Central American cuisine is a less spicy yet wonderfully flavored alternative to Mexican food. It provides for elegant dining and the restaurant maintains a good wine list. With Louisiana barely 100 miles to the east, Cajun food comes natural to this gulf coast area. It is not surprising to find some of the best Cajun restaurants in the world in the Houston area. Sonny's Crazy Cajun and Willie G's are a couple of the best in the area. If you are looking for a place to get a good breakfast or lunch the Fred's Grill is worth a try. Located on NASA Road 1, it has developed into a local tradition because the food is good, inexpensive and the staff friendly. Fred baked fresh bread and pies and always has a hot cup of coffee ready for you. Looking for a place to party? You don't have to look far. Lance's Turtle Club is a floating bar. It is known for it's live bands and is a regular tie up for sailboats and powerboats taking a break from cruising the bay. Seabrook Beach Club has crawfish eating contests (in season) and a swim up bar / swimming pool overlooking Clear Lake. If you like jazz and great food, then you will want to check out Tommy's Patio Cafe on Bay Area Blvd. There are some great Italian restaurants. Franca's is family run and was established in 1974. It is full of unique sculptures created by the senior Franco. Villa Capri provides a pleasant dining experience overlooking Clear Lake either inside or on the patio. Mexico has always had a strong influence on Texas culture and cuisine. Estaban's is located in League City and has some of the best chicken and beef fajitas in the area. Both Mamacita's on NASA Rd and Tequila Willie's on Bay Area Blvd. offers good food at a good price. Brew pubs have popped up all over the Houston area. Boondoogle's is a British style pub which makes some great gourmet pizzas cooked in their wood fired ovens. Bradley's Pub was the first brew pub to open in the Clear Lake area. It has good beer and a boisterous atmosphere. Sherlock Baker St. Pub has many adjoining rooms with different atmospheres varying from the traditional pub to a billiard room to a live music stage and dance floor. In February the "Epicurean Evening" Festivities are held at the Baybrook Mall. For a nominal admission fee, attendees get to sample food and drink from area restaurants and are entertained by musicians, dance troupes and other acts. The mall is shut down for this occasion and the proceeds go to charity. Whatever you are hungry for, you will find in the Clear Lake area. The tourist industry provides a strong economic base to support the restaurant industry and as a local resident, you will benefit from the quality, quantity and diversity to choose from.
