Among communities of this size, few match the Clear Lake area's diversity in quality performing and visual arts. Symphony, band, choral, ballet and theater groups offer opportunity to all, including those who eagerly become part of the audience. The City of Nassau Bay features the arts. It is home to the Arts Alliance center at Clear Lake, the Clear Creek Country Theatre and the Clear Lake Symphony. Making its performing home at the University of Houston Clear Lake is the first-rate Clear Lake Metropolitan Ballet. The Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is Houston’s acclaimed musical theatre production company

The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake publishes information on artists and cultural Arts of more than 50 arts organizations in 32 municipalities throughout the area in the bi-monthly, noncommercial "State of the Arts at Clear Lake" magazine. This is a not for profits arts organization. For events and additional information, the website is   www.taaccl.org

The Center opened on June 18, 1997, in a 3,000 square foot space leased in an almost empty shopping strip. TAACCL offered free children’s art education programs taught by professional art educators and immediately attracted an ethnically diverse group of 50+ children at each session. Professionals in the computer art field taught digital art to teenagers and adults, and public school teachers attended classes to update their skills. Monthly gallery exhibits featured gifted artists who sold their work with no commissions charged; and juried exhibitions with elegant opening receptions attracted an immediate audience. The Center offered its space for area cultural arts meetings, and the first summer arts camp for children was met with enthusiasm. The original Center location contained administrative offices for paid staff, numerous volunteers, outreach programs, and State of the Arts at Clear Lake, a bimonthly noncommercial magazine featuring area arts organizations, three-month calendars of local art happenings, and a resource index of Alliance members.

On March 9, 2000, Warren and Kay Burnett purchased the land and two-story commercial building located on NASA Road 1, directly across from NASA/Johnson Space Center. The 10,000 square foot building, built in 1965, was appraised at $2.5 million before renovation. Preliminary improvements were required to meet ADA, local, city and state building code standards. The Burnetts offer this beautiful facility as a gift and challenge to the community to raise matching funds. TAACCL moved to the new location on September 1, 2000, and launched RAISING THE ROOF! to meet the challenge: $1 million for capital improvements and program expansion, and $1 million to establish an endowment to protect the legacy.

Clear Creek Country Theatre has been serving the Bay Area since the 1960's. The theatre, formally housed in the old Rose Theatre in League City, has made its home in Nassau Bay since 1998. The theatre moved into its current venue in the Nassau Bay Shopping Village in 1999. The facility, over 5,700 square feet, houses a 109-seat theatre with a proscenium stage. For information on auditions or production events can be found on the website: www.clearcreekcountrytheatre.org/

The Clear Lake Symphony starts its twenty-sixth season in the fall of 2001. The symphony, recognized as a premier community orchestra, is a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League. It seeks to complement the activities of nearby professional orchestras by providing opportunities for Bay Area musicians to perform a variety of musical experiences for the enjoyment of the Bay Area community. In addition to their classical repertoire, the symphony performs a Christmas Pops Gala and Summer Pops Concert annually.
